Women experience predictable mental health shifts throughout the menstrual cycle, yet many clinicians feel unprepared to assess or treat symptoms rooted in hormonal fluctuations. This course provides a comprehensive, evidence-informed overview of each phase of the menstrual cycle and its connection to mood, anxiety, cognition, stress tolerance, and overall emotional regulation. Participants will learn the psychological and physiological features of all four menstrual phases, identify red-flag symptoms that may indicate PMDD or hormonal dysregulation, and integrate nutrition and lifestyle strategies that support stabilization of mood throughout the cycle. The training also covers cycle-tracking approaches, counseling interventions, and psychoeducation scripts clinicians can use immediately in practice. Clinicians will leave with actionable strategies to help clients reduce symptom severity, understand their monthly patterns, and improve functioning across the lifespan—from adolescence through perimenopause. Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this course participants will be able to identify: 2–3 common mental health symptoms associated with each phase of the menstrual cycle. 2–3 clinical indicators that differentiate PMS from PMDD. 3–4 nutrition strategies and lifestyle modifications shown to support mental health across the menstrual cycle. 2-3 clinical interventions tailored to cycle-related emotional changes. 1-2 cycle-tracking skills to identify monthly symptom patterns and triggers.
