This course will provide an in-depth overview of cortisol, the body’s primary stress hormone, and its role in emotional regulation, cognition, and mental health. Participants will learn how the stress response system functions and how chronic stress and cortisol dysregulation contribute to common clinical presentations. We will also explore the clinical implications of prolonged stress on therapeutic work, including assessment considerations and treatment planning. Practical, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and mind-body strategies will be discussed to support regulation, resilience, and recovery. This live virtual seminar is designed to provide clinicians with tools to integrate stress physiology concepts into therapy and enhance client psychoeducation and intervention.
