Beyond the Bruises: Understanding & Treating Intimate Partner Violence

About this training

This 3-hour training provides mental health professionals with foundational and applied knowledge for identifying, assessing, and responding to intimate partner violence (IPV) in clinical practice. Participants will explore the dynamics of power and control, recognize both overt and subtle indicators of abuse, and understand the psychological and trauma-related impacts of IPV. The training will emphasize practical clinical skills, including screening, safety planning, and risk assessment, while addressing ethical and legal responsibilities relevant to working with individuals impacted by domestic violence.
